  One side of each tag is covered in a protective blue coating. The tags are good quality and will work for my purposes. I am using an etching solution to put some of my daughter's art on the tags, for FUN! They etch quickly and easily. I'll update when the entire crafting experience is complete. The product is great and is as advertised and shown. 5 stars.

  These are fantastic stamping blanks and you definitely get a ton! They come with great little protective liner on each side so none of them are scratched and they're all perfect and ready to stamp. You definitely don't want to start with a tag that is flawed or scratched.

  The blank tags were great for making jewelry. The blanks have a protective plastic film on each side, one side is blue and the other side is clear. The blanks themselves are very shiny and the hole is great for either a jump ring or to attach a cord. This is a great way to keep your teens occupied while they miss their friends. I would not recommend these for smaller children, as it does take some physical force to stamp them and they are small enough to pose a choking hazard.

  These aluminum blanks are protected on both sides with plastic that peels off, but the side covered by clear plastic is marred on a number of them to some extent, as others mentioned. I haven't seen any that looked bad, just stray marks of various kinds on the surface and a little bit of a lip at the edge telling you that was the side that was down when they were cut and apparently no sanding was done to fix it. The other side protected by blue plastic is clean and smooth on all the ones I've looked at. I don't know how common it is to leave the edge as-is on cut metal blanks, so that might not be any different from how other sellers do it.I'll sand the edges of the underside of any that I give as gifts, adding a bit of work, but otherwise they're fine. The shape is consistent and they're all flat, so I can use my Silhouette Curio to emboss some of them. I'll probably etch some too, with salt water and electricity and/or my rotary tool. Blanks like this can be used for dog tags, cat tags, pendants, zipper pulls, charms, and I am sure other things too.

  Anodized (colored) aluminum - they will wear down and loose color over time, but I was easily able to deep engrave the tag with dog's name and owner's phone number, fiber laser with correct settings gave a solid white engraving marks about 0.25mm deep. They arrived as an assortment of 3 per color to a zip-lock bag, but since multiple tags of each color were packed against each other without any wrapping or spacer pad, there were minor scratches in some of them (pet will quickly cause many more scratches!), so my complaint is that each should have a protective wrap/bag or adhesive plastic cover.

  I have access to a laser marker so I was looking for blank tags to engrave myself. These worked perfectly. My pack came with all 20, 2 of each color. After I marked the tag I used clear sticky paper to cover the engraving. The tags your buy at local stores come with this protector so that the engraving stays in place when the tags rub against other ones on the collar. This set did not include a protector so I used contact paper to make it myself. I imagine they will hold up well!

  These aluminum round blank tags are nice. There's a blue plastic film to protect one side prior to stamping. These tags are great for key rings, dog tags, pendants, charm's, and more. I read somewhere that aluminum will ruin your stamps, but I don't know if that's true or not. I love them for dog tags and charmed key rings the best. I usually use the line tape but it's cute too with the letters off kilter. I have some southwest stamps I'd like to try on these too. If you like stamping metal blanks, these are fun.

  I bought these to use with a machine that does engraving and while I can't recommend that machine, these tags worked well for what I needed to do. The engraving showed up beautifully. Also, the seller shipped the tags in a timely manner.

  These are a good value and overall make a great set of blanks for either stamping or engraving. My own use involves engraving them, and they take the markings without any difficulty, so I'm quite happy on the whole.They come with a protective plastic coating that, for the most part, keeps them in good condition prior to use. The one problem I had, and the reason for awarding four instead of five stars, is that a few of them managed to get scratched even with the protective coating. While the bulk of the set is still just fine (and even on the scratched ones, there's still at least one good side in the majority of cases), more than one of them did arrive with these flaws. A small disappointment, but I'm still pleased with the majority of the set.

  So far, I am impressed by these tags. The colors are bright. The sturdiness of the metal is beyond expectation. I was able to stamp my pets' names perfectly. I anticipate that the tags will hold up at least as long as the experience one I've gotten from the pet feed stores.
